The new XXL version of the Volvo FH cab was a huge success at the 24H Le Mans Truck, where it was presented for the first time in France by the Swedish manufacturer. This larger cabin, with more storage space and one of the widest berths on the market, is suitable for drivers traveling long distances. It is now available in France, in addition to the sleeper cab and cabins Globetrotter and Globetrotter XL.

“With the new XXL version, our goal was to significantly increase the living space aboard the FH XL cab already known for its comfort. This new cab is therefore much more spacious, yet rugged enough to meet Volvo Trucks’ strict safety standards, “says Jérôme Flassayer, product manager for Volvo Trucks France. Volvo Trucks engineers have redesigned the FH XL cab to design this XXL version: the rear wall has been moved back by 25 cm and reinforced with additional rear posts.
Considerably longer, this new XXL cab was designed as a second home for drivers. It’s 600 liters more than the already spacious FH XL cab, giving drivers more space to rest. It is also equipped with a larger berth and has a large additional storage volume easily accessible. The cockpit is designed to be both versatile and practical. With an extra 50 liters of storage space in each compartment under the bunk, drivers can carry a lot more personal items on long journeys.
To ensure a good night’s sleep, the Swedish manufacturer has equipped the FH XXL with one of the most spacious berths on the market. It has been lengthened by 13 cm, to reach 213 cm, and widened by 25 cm, compared to that of the standard FH cab. It also gives the driver more clearance over the head and more space to relax. In addition, the new mattress incorporates S-Touch technology, with a polyester foam padding on each spring for optimized comfort. Note that the lower bunk is also available with a reclining function, for increased flexibility and comfort.
